A picture-perfect fall set the stage for this magnificent wine. The warm, sunny days were offset by cool, breezy nights. Flavors ripened and developed in the vineyard, while maintaining balanced sugar and acidity. The 2016 Merlot opens with wave upon wave of fruit, blackberry, black cherry and cassis, with undertones of cocoa powder, cola and just a hint of mint. Dripping with more black fruit on the palate, its supported by deft balance, integrated tannins showing just a touch of dust and a velvety mouthfeel, stretching through the lengthy finish.
