This new world interpretation of Chianti is lush and rich. It is perfect for pasta or by itself. It is very drinkable and you will need to keep your cellar stocked for friends who drop in unannounced. The 2015 vintage features wild berries and dried fig aromas with hints of mushrooms and a subtle spice. It opens to flavors of tart cherry and red currant, and finishes with hints of raspberry and cedar. A balanced but racy acidity and fine-grained tannins make this a perfect food wine

Sagemoor, Seven Hills, Dwelley, Lodmell and Kiona
84% Sangiovese, 9% Syrah and 7% Malbec
We have been crafting award winning Sangiovese since 1999. We are confident the 2015 edition will also have a medal around its neck after it is scored. It is a delightful combination of 84% Sangiovese, 9% Syrah, and 7% Malbec from hand- selected vineyards: Dwelley, Sagemoor, Seven Hills, Kiona and Lodmell. Sangiovese was a tip of the cap to Gordy’s Italian heritage. It quickly became one of our most requested varietals. Now, despite being over 10% of our total annual production, we still have trouble keeping on our shelves.

The 2015 vintage was one of the hottest growing seasons in the history of the Walla Walla Valley. Bud break occurred two weeks earlier than normal with harvest ranging almost three weeks ahead of average. Ripe fruit and soft tannins make the 2015 vintage approachable now with structure to shine with extended cellaring.
